School Readiness and the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework

We will examine the Guiding Principles and the 5 Central Domains in the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, participate in small group activities as well as plan to implement activities that help children develop skills in those domains. Oregon has adopted the Framework as a guide to the developmental building blocks that are most important for school readiness and future success. We will align the Framework with Kindergarten Common Core State Standards and explore how to use the framework to establish school readiness goals for children, monitor children’s progress, and align curricula.
