Family Adjustments to Children with Special Needs

This class is an introduction of the potential impacts on families who have a child with special needs. Participants will discuss a model of the family life cycle. We will explore the stressors that can impact the family during the different stages of the family life cycle. Also, we will discuss the potential impacts and family reactions to special needs and the ways to partner with families. Finally, we will learn about acceptance – and beyond – when a child has special needs.
