Afterschool practitioners play an important role in supporting kids’ literacy development. In this session participants will identify strategies for encouraging kids to want to read and creating inviting reading spaces. Participants will understand why providing time for reading for pleasure is important.

This Saturday training will present both TALE Session 1: Standards, Support, and Story Time, and TALE Session 2: Reading as Recreation. Must attend both sessions for a total of 4 training hours. Participants will receive handouts and a children’s book.
