Talking to Parents About Concern's With Their Child's Development
Do you have concerns about a child’s development? Are you nervous about discussing your concerns with the child’s family? In this class we will discuss strategies for talking to parents about your concerns about their children’s development. We will talk about do’s and don’ts of approaching the topic for the first time, and explore how to guide the conversation positively in order to make sure you, the child and family receive necessary support and services. We will also review the process for referral for screening and evaluations and what early intervention services include. Many parents are anxious about having a child evaluated – we will discuss these concerns and how you can help parents through this process.
