Judy Langford, Associate Director for the Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, DC, examines in detail the Strengthening Families Protective Factors. The Protective Factors promotes healthy families through five "factors" like social connections, parental resilience, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need and social and emotional competence of children.
