The Protective Factors: Strengthening Families through Early Care & Education
Judy Langford, Associate Director for the Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, DC, examines in detail the Strengthening Families Protective Factors. The Protective Factors promotes healthy families through five "factors" like social connections, parental resilience, knowledge of parenting and child development, concrete support in times of need and social and emotional competence of children. Participants will learn about the role of Protective Factors in reducing abuse and neglect and how the framework has been applied across the nation.
