Nutrition Basics for Child Care Providers

This session will include a MyPyramid for Preschoolers and suggested menus for the calories based onage/sex and a minimum of 30-60 minutes of activity a day. We will also have a handout entitled “Healthy Tips for Tots.” You will participate in a food sampling of a major brand of pineapple with the store brand and talk about—Plan, Shop, & Save. Also included will be a sneak peak of why calcium is so important for our children and the reasons why some children don’t like their fruits and veggies.
