Understanding Number and Operations School Age
Session 1
Participants will be introduced to the foundations of math knowledge skill fro ages five to twelve and gain an understanding of how children learn about number and operations including number sense, place value, numerical expressions, number operations and fact families, factors, patterns and estimation. Participants will become aware of ways to promote children's knowledge of number and children's skills in using math as part of everyday experiences. Techniques in helping school age children with homework will also be discussed.
