Loving & Letting Go
Caregivers take into their homes children who have been abused, neglected and traumatized. They nurture these children, and help them through their developmental, behavioral and emotional difficulties. When it is time for the children to move on, caregivers’ repeated and ongoing loss and grief is seldom addressed. In this interactive session we will focus on the unique loss and grief that caregivers experience and what supports this necessary and ultimately helpful process. In this session, participants will identify the specific kinds of loss and grief they are experiencing; be able to explain how their loss as caregivers is unique; and strategize what may best support them in their grief process.
