Safe and Sound in Child Care

Participants will explore health and safety practices in the daily lives of children in the childcare setting. Based on current research, we will explore safety practices, both in the indoor setting and the outdoor setting, including fire safety, emergency drill procedures. We will also explore ways to child proof the environment, animals, toys, outdoor structures, outdoor surfaces and equipment. We will also explore health practices such as illness prevention, nutrition, physical activity, sanitation procedures, communicable disease outbreaks and obesity prevention.
