Essential Literacy
Fostering Language Development

Children are always experimenting with language. It’s delightful to see the inventive ways children express their ideas. In this workshop we will explore the link between children’s thinking and speaking. We will explore theories of literacy and gain a deeper understanding of the stages of language development. And we will explore strategies to encourage listening and speaking skills everyday. Finally we will practice using read-aloud and picture books to promote children’s language and thinking.
