Risk and Adventure in the Outdoor Play Environment

This training will address the developmental and educational benefits of risky play outdoors as well as strategies to manage risky play activities to maintain a safe environment. We will examine topics such as loose parts play, hazards in the landscape, and communicating risk expectations to parents. Several practical examples and tips for improving the outdoor play area will be covered.
