The brain of a human infant is far from fully developed. It is, however, uniquely ready for learning, and learning happens every moment of every day the child grows. As learning happens, the brain physically changes in ways that will effect the child throughout his or her life. Responsive, caring relationships provide the foundation for healthy brain development. Participants in this workshop will learn the basics of how the brain develops in humans and why the work of an infant care teacher is so important.
