When a caregiver supports an infant's feelings of competence, independence, security and love, the child can be said to be receiving a great gift. Through discussion and activities we will explore ten gifts that an infant care teacher can give to children in care. These "gifts" help children sort out issues of dependence and independence, power and intimacy, self-worth and self-control.
