Building Healthy, Happy Kids with Loose Parts!

In this workshop, we will focus on how to create a rich play/learning environment on the cheap by adding loose materials to the play yard.  Loose parts foster creativity, problem solving, communication, and confidence, as kids learn that they can re-create the world around them with their hands and their own imaginations.  We will look at examples of successful loose parts play from play environments around the world, and address some of the barriers and safety concerns that commonly arise.  This workshop will also include a hands-on component, working with simple natural materials to create artful installations that can inspire teachers and kids alike.
