Self regulation is a powerful predictor of academic achievement. The skills and approaches adults use to respond to children’s emotionally reactive behaviors will either foster or inhibit their abilities to develop self-regulation. Examine strategies for helping children identify emotional triggers, calm, problem solve, and learn to self-regulate themselves.
