Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD)
Caring for the "Under" or "Over" Stimulated Child
Due to subtle symptoms, SPD can often go undiagnosed. These children may struggle with everyday tasks like opening a jar, have sensitivity to noise, social anxieties or other symptoms. This workshop will explore the causes and identification of sensory processing disorders and their effects on social, motor, and language development in young children. Simulation activities will allow participants to briefly experience various impairments, and learn strategies to help these children improve sensory integration.
