Participants in this training will explore how to become a culturally responsive early childhood practitioner while working with children who come from backgrounds different from the teacher. The Deficit Thinking Model and how attributions guide an adult's response to a child's behavior will be discussed. Participants will learn the 6 step process for mindful reflection and communication that early childhood educators and caregivers can use when interacting with children from culturally diverse backgrounds.

This in an online webinar training. You must have access to a computer from 6:00pm to 9:00pm the day of the training with appropriate connectivity. You don’t need a microphone, but you will need speakers, audio, or ear buds/phones. They use Zoom. Zoom has and app that can be downloaded. This app will allow you to be tracked by the software needed to verify participation.
